Fall layering

Hi friends,

I was recently invited to the Diamond Cellar concept store, Store 5a, for a styling session. They sell all kinds of pre-owned fine jewelry, watches, and bags. Ugh, the bags, ladies! Chanel, Celine, Burberry. So much gorgeousness and not enough hands to grab them all up with. So, obviously I was more than thrilled to pick amongst their fabulous selection and play model for a day.

My focus was on layering since that’s usually how I roll. I know, I know, it’s not the kind of layering that keeps you warm. But what I love about layering is it lets me get more use and more impact out of my day-to-day jewelry. I love my simple charm necklaces and it’s often hard for me to buy anything other than that. But I feel ok with it because I can load a bunch on in mixed metals and then I practically have a statement necklace, without actually buying one. And the same goes for bracelets. Boom! Layers.

Anywho, you can read more from my interview on their blog at http://www.store5a.com/blogs/weekly-style-updates/58145157-style-update-week-4 !!

But before I go, I need to talk about this whole longline plaid vest/dress I’ve got going on. I love it. This is the kind of fall layer that is so perfect because it adds a major punch of style plus some warmth. Mine was from Target and I am seriously crushing on how they styled theirs with mismatching plaids. Like, that sounds crazy right? But it sooooo isn’t.

And these vest/dress/shirts can be layered over or under other tops and sweaters to get lots of different looks. Like over a silky cami and skinny jeans or leather pants and its date night. Or throw it over a long sleeve tee, add a plaid scarf and boyfriend cardigan and you’ve got a dressed down cozy look. Boom! More layers.
